Toccare (1979) for piano and soundtracks
The sound of the tape is the result of electric impulses vibrating wires of different metals and thickness and these vibrations then having been assembled in layers of sound. Within networks of twanging chords woven in free rhythmic patterns, the pianist, playing in character with and in response to the soundtracks, feels his way between the non-rhythmic repetition on one note and a tremolo. Commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Culture. (from the Music Information Centre Donemus MuziekGroep Nederland)
